This past year has taxed us all. Schools went to remote learning. Employers sent their employees home to work when possible. Even local charity events adapted to new physical distancing guidelines. (Remember the Thanksgiving dinner drive-through and the Tucson Virtual Hunger Walk?). The City wants to get people outside and moving again. So, they created the Tucson Mobile Recreation Program known as Ready, Set, Rec! This new program holds its kick-off party this Thursday, February 25th.
What: Ready, Set, Rec! Kick-Off Party

When: Thursday, February 25th, 1 pm to 3 pm

Contact: City of Tucson Parks & Rec Dept (520) 791-4873
Tucson Mobile Recreation Program
Thanks to federal funds provided through the CARES Act, the City purchased six vans to become the backbone of their Ready, Set, Rec! program. These funds outfitted the vans with equipment, PPE, handwashing stations, and traffic cones. In turn, these vans bring games and other activities to the public at various parks throughout the City.
Ready, Set, Rec! Party Info
On Thursday, February 25th, the City officially launches their mobile Ready, Set, Rec! program with a fun kick-off party at Rodeo Park. The City invites the public to join them (at an appropriate social distance, of course) for fun in the sun. They have plenty of games and activities for kids of all ages (including adults). Just make sure you wear a mask while interacting with anyone who does not live with you. Once officials cut the ribbon to start this Tucson mobile recreation program, the other five vans head off to five other parks in the City to allow residents to enjoy the fun as well. The vans will be set up at the other locations from 2 pm to 4 pm.
