Food insecurity at any other time affects millions of people. During COVID-19, it affects even more. According to Feeding America, almost 940,000 Arizonans struggle to eat every single day. That translates to one in every eight people living in Arizona. One in every five children suffers from food insecurity as well. Local food banks struggle to keep up with demand. To help, the 3000 Club offers Tucson Market on the Move (MOM) every Saturday.

Tucson Market on the Move (MOM)
Canned goods and other non-perishable foods help create a good stock in the pantry. But the human body still needs fresh fruit and vegetables in their diet to stay healthy. Every Saturday from 6:30 am to 9 am (or until supplies run out), volunteers with The 3000 Club mask and glove up to provide fresh produce to families in need. Recipients pay just $10 for a 60 lb box of food.
Every Friday, Market on the Move posts what that week's box holds on their Facebook page. So, go visit their page right now, like it, and visit it on Friday afternoons to preview that week's offerings. Produce varies from week to week. The amount of food they can provide varies from week to week as well. They work throughout the week to gather goods for filling their boxes with fresh produce from all over the Tucson area. Unfortunately, last Saturday (August 15th), they ran out of food by 8 am. It helps to get there as early as possible to line up. But keep in mind that a spot in line does not guarantee that you'll receive a box that week.
Tucson MOM Accepts Donations
If you would like to help, visit The 3000 Club's website. All money raised goes towards purchasing food for both their Phoenix and Tucson Market on the Move weekly events. Also, they accept donations of computers and electronics at their offices anytime between 10 am and 4 pm Monday through Friday. The sale of these items goes towards buying more food as well. Please donate what you can to help feel our families in need.
